Neil Nixon- Author

Journalism

I've been writing articles and features for longer than I've been writing anything else.  My first published work of this kind goes back to my student days.  Like the scripts over the years there has been more work than I can remember.  The short version of this part of my career says 'I have contributed to The Guardian, The Times Educational Supplement, NME and Fortean Times amongst many others.'

I'm usually up to something in this area — commissioned or otherwise — and in the recent past this has included radio essays, articles and some regular work for a local paper.  My specialist subjects include popular music in all its forms and the paranormal.  Recently I've become involved in writing obituaries, one of those jobs I took after seeing an advert and applying on a whim.  I was — I believe — the only applicant. Whatever the truth, they've hung on to me for two years and counting.

If you're interested in this area of my work contact me and I can supply the details and examples of work you want to see.

You could also visit some of the web sites that have borrowed my work.  Two entries from The Rough Guide to Rock seem to have permanent places on fan sites at the moment.  These deal with

Medicine Head and one of my all time idols — Wildman Fischer
